Boundaries:
The Capitol Riverfront area is bounded by South Capitol Street to the west, the Southeast Freeway/I-395 to the north, 11th Street and the Anacostia River to the east.
Neighborhood Feel:
Like many a developing area with an industrial base, the Capitol Waterfront is a changing neighborhood with lots of promise with the Nationals Stadium, the Washington Navy Yard and the Headquarters of the Department of Transportation as the cornerstones hoping to bring in more restaurants, offices and residences. The Washington Navy Yard is the former shipyard and ordnance plant of the United States Navy in Southeast Washington, D.C. It is the oldest shore establishment of the U.S. Navy. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973, and designated a National Historic Landmark on May 11, 1976

Transportation:
Capitol Riverfront is serviced by the Navy Yard Washington Metro Station through the green line. The neighborhood is also within walking distance of the Capitol South Metro and Eastern Market Metro Stations and to the Waterfront/SEU Metro Stop at 4th & M Street. It is also serviced by the Circulator Bus that connects to Union Station.
